Frequently Asked Questions

How do I choose between the 6/4 mm hooded and the 4/3 mm women’s winter wetsuit?

The 6/4 mm hooded version is your go-to for sub 10 °C water, offering solid thermal protection in the coldest conditions. The 4/3 mm is lighter, designed for water temperatures of 10-16°C usually found in late Autumn or early Spring when the chill hangs.

What makes Simpel’s rubber different?

We use Japanese Yamamoto rubber, a non‑petroleum option made from limestone and plant‑based oils. It insulates better than traditional neoprene and offers better flex, less weight, and a smaller environmental footprint.

How should a women’s winter wetsuit fit?

Think snug and comfortable, like a second skin. Too loose, and cold-water flushes in; too tight, it will feel restrictive, and paddling becomes a chore. Trust the snugness, certain areas like the neck seal may feel a little tighter than you'd ideally like but it’ll break in, mould to your shape and feel perfect within a couple surf. Measuring height, chest, waist, and hips against our size chart ensures the best fit

What’s the care routine for maximum lifespan of a wetsuit?

Rinse your wetsuit in fresh, cool water after every surf, inside and out. Do not hang it in direct sunlight, hang it inside out first, then flip and dry externally. Avoid heat and harsh detergents - only use specialist cleaners like Nikwax Wetsuit Refresh., Also avoid using dryers, or washing machines as these can damage the seams. See our full wetsuit care guide here.

Are Simpel suits eco-friendly?

Yes, we use Yamamoto non‑petroleum rubber (made from limestone and plant-based oils), recycled outer linings and thermal linings, and focus on durable design and construction, these wetsuits deliver cold-water performance with low environmental impact. At end-of-life, we also offer wetsuit recycling.

Do I need a hooded suit?

If you're surfing in water under about 10 °C or facing excessive cold wind and chop, the built-in hood of the 6/4 mm model would be perfect. For milder conditions where water temperatures are 12 degrees or above and the wind is mild, the 4/3 mm without hood works beautifully.

Simpel Winter Wetsuits for Women

Simpel women’s winter wetsuits are built for cold water, designed to last, and refined with real surf function in mind. Each suit is cut for women who surf, using Japanese Yamamoto rubber, a high-performance, non-petroleum material made from limestone and plant-based oils. It’s lighter, warmer, and more flexible than traditional neoprene, with a lower environmental impact.

Inside, a recycled fast-dry thermal lining runs from chest to ankle, helping retain heat and speed up dry time between surfs. All seams are glued, blind-stitched, and fully taped for a water resistant, durable finish that holds up through heavy winter use.

The Simpel Entry chest zip system is clean and effective, easy to get in and out of, even with cold hands. An ergonomic back panel and strategic seam placement allow for natural movement and less resistance when paddling. Built for warmth, performance, and comfort.

Our 6/4mm hooded women’s wetsuit is made for the coldest days, while the 4/3mm women’s wetsuit is perfect for late autumn and early spring. Both are shaped specifically for women, refined through feedback from female surfers riding year-round.

These women’s winter wetsuits combine cold-water performance, long-lasting materials, and lower-impact design. For surfers who want to spend more time in the water these wetsuits are functional, reliable, extremely comfortable and toasty warm.
